Four acclaimed artists, one unique musical experience.

Four colleagues from four different string quartets join forces to bring musical inspiration to the concert stage. Musicians Fritz Gearhart, Hal Grossman, Mary Harris and Andy Smith invite you experience nEXus!

Violinist Fritz Gearhart has performed for audiences from coast to coast. He has appeared in major halls around the country including the Kennedy Center, the 92nd Street Y in NYC, Alice Tully Hall, and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie. Mr. Gearhart is currently on the faculty of the University of Oregon School of Music. He was a member of the Chester Quartet in the early 90s and the Oregon String Quartet since 1998.

Violinist Hal Grossman has been enthusiastically
acclaimed by critics and audiences alike for his “vibrant tone” and “superb technique”. Grand Award Winner of the Lima Young Artist Competition and Silver Medalist of the International Stulberg String Competition, Mr. Grossman also received First Prize Awards at the prestigious International Cleveland Quartet Competition and the National Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. Mr. Grossman is Associate Professor of Violin at The University of Louisville. He was a member of the Casella, Chester and Oxford Strings Quartets.

Mary E. M. Harris is Professor of Viola at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She has been a member of the Oxford String Quartet since1988 and was formerly with the Dakota String Quartet. Ms. Harris is principal violist of ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, founding member of the COSMOS chamber ensemble, and a member of the New Hampshire and Peter Britt music festivals.

Cellist Andrew Smith is Professor of Music at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the Principal Cellist of The Las Vegas Philharmonic. An avid chamber musician, he has performed chamber music concerts throughout the United States, and in Italy, Spain, England, Germany, Denmark, and Ukraine, as well as Peru and Brazil. Dr. Smith was a member of the Nicoletti and Montani String Quartets.
